I went out in some of the January sales with some Christmas money I’d been given as gifts, with a plan to treat myself to a few new books. I managed to pick up some good deals, and ended up with a lot more than I had anticipated!
It’s been a few months since I last really bought myself any books, and there’s been a few titles – and series – that I’ve been wanting to get to. I have started to catch up a little on these, adding a large lot of new books to my home book collection.
My new books: A Game of Thrones, by George RR Martin*. City of Bones*, by Cassandra Clare. Shadow and Bone, by Leigh Bardugo*. A Man Called Ove, by Fredrik Backman. The Miniaturist, by Jessie Burton. Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage, by Haruki Murakami. Red Queen, by Victoria Aveyard. The Hunger Games Trilogy, by Suzanne Collins. The Maze Runner Series (4 books), by James Dashner. Divergent Trilogy, by Veronica Roth.
*First book in a series.
Besides these, I also picked up a little pocket book – The Great Fire of London by Samuel Pepys (80p from Waterstones), and a set of three poetry books (£2.50 from The Works) – including a book each of collected poems from Blake, Yeats, and Shakespeare.
I can’t wait to read them all – these will be added to my ever-growing TBR list, and (hopefully) will appear on my Reading List page in the next few weeks!
